Keeping Healthy and Hydrated | June 2014
This year has gone so fast and we are well into Summer. Unfortunately my skin can go from being really dry one minute to quite oily the next but in the summer its definitely a case of re-hydration with the sun. At the moment I have a few products in which I am using on a daily basis to moisturise my skin and stop it from drying out.
For my face I use 'Hope's Intensive Dry Skin Rescue' which I have found to be the moisturiser and honestly works over night. I can suffer with really flaky skin around my eyebrows and this prevents that overnight. I have used this for over a year every other night along or everyday if necessary and it really does wonder. I previously did a product review on this a while back.
For my arms and legs and arms, especially those knees and elbows I apply a little bit of Soap&Glory's body butter to stop my skin from drying out whether it be in the cold winters or the summer, especially when I am going out with bare legs.
I also use another Soap&Glory product for my hand and it is none other than the, Hand Food. I am someone who cannot stand dry and rough feeling hands, so I use this product most days, especially in the winter but also in the summer, after swimming or being at the beach etc.
No matter the time of year I always seem to get cracked and dry lips and I am constantly applying some sort of lip balm to help stop the problem however, Blistex's relief cream has got to be, by far my favourite. Besides sorting out dry lips it also helps with cold sores and cuts and scars from blemishes which I get around my mouth and I would recommend this by far, for someone who struggles with these things.
Everyone knows that you must drink a lot of water, and for some reason it's only been the past year or so where I have been aiming for one and half to two litres of water everyday. Especially in the Summer months as our bodies lose more water. Many people know this but it really does help with the reduction of blemishes and spots and makes you skin feel nicer, especially on the face and can help combat those dry lips. Whilst being healthy and a good thing for your body to consume.
I have also started eating at least once a day, following the old cliche, 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away' but my consumption in front has increased and I have generally felt healthier. It's strange as we get older, - I don't know if this is the case for everyone - but my normal rummage in kitchen for chocolate and crisps has turned into a stroll to the fruit bowl.
These are my go to products and things for keeping hydrated and feeling healthy all year round and not just for the summer months
