Treating Acne

Almost everyone has had to deal with the problem of spots and acne. For me I've had to put up with them from a very little age, and luckily enough I only get a couple of blemishes here and there as well as the occasional hormone spot. The majority of teenagers are prone to having acne and if anyone is like myself, we attempt and try different medical treatments, buy and try every cream and product which is meant to reduce spots.

Over the years I have tried a lot of different treatments, and they have all worked to some extent however using them over a long period of time, I never really found a treatment that worked or a product which was right for me.

Saying that there was one product known as 'Quinoderm' which I was able to pick up from boots, and I found this the most effective treatment out of the numerous I tried and I would highly recommend it.

For girls a lot of people say wearing make-up can be a cause of acne, however this is a myth, wearing make-up is not a cause however, not removing your make up can be a problem, so it's always good idea to invest in a decent make up remover and face cleanser which you should use every night.

Acne is most commonly cause by emotional stress, as we all deal with some kind of stress in our lives. Taking half an hour out to relax, and have 'me time' can be a great help.

With my whole idea of trying to eat more healthily and understanding what exactly it is I am eating. I discovered a book, which tells you the benefits and drawbacks of a variety of foods, what's in them and they offer diet based solutions for medical and health problems people may come across.

Reading up, I found the a lot of acne bases problems are caused by a Zinc deficiency, so eating foods such as nuts, poultry and lean meat are a way of increase your total intake of zinc as well as eating whole grains and cereals which also add Vitamin B into your diet as well as Zinc. Having your five a day, and eating a variety of fruit and veg, helps  your body, mind and health all around, adding that all important vitamin C into your diet.

There are also some foods which you shouldn't eat too much off and which can be a possible help to reduce acne, such as Chocolate and Sweets, growing up I am sure 99% have been told to not eat all the chocolate and go for an apple, and in truth we should really listen, no matter how hard it is. Also cutting down on the salted snacks, like crisps and added sugar can be beneficial.  While it has been mentioned to avoid all Iodine containing supplements.
