ALICANTE - GATWICK - MALE - LILY BEACH / Maldives 2014
Although Alicante airport isn't my favourite airport it is a god send when I see the costa and Starbucks
signs. It's very sad but it's what get me excited to go to the airport. Picking up a Starbucks in the departure lounge and returning to a nice costa. Two things which I don't get to have on a regular basis and something I miss. So a trip to Starbucks is a much have when flying and that's kinda where my holiday begins.

From Alicante airport we flew a few hours into Gatwick airport on Monarch air lines. Which was nothing really interesting, I ended up watching a movie and eating malteasers. We then had to catch a shuttle train from the south terminal to the north terminal and hang around until our flight was called.
While in Gatwick airport we were able to to use the business class lounge in British Airways, which was always nice as everyone's gotta love 'free food and drink' (the Victoria sponge was fab!). I also picked up a new phone cable and a swimsuit from Fat Face!
From Gatwick I was lucky enough enough to travel on the best seats of the plane, in world traveller class on British airways. I was very excited, it's it every day you get to to travel in style! We flew to Male, located in the Indian Ocean where when you land it doesn't look like much, however the views from naive were amazing and you could see all the boats and atals of the little Maldivian Islands. After we collected our luggage we got escorted to another lounge where we sat and had a drink for an hour before we caught a sea plane to the small island but paradisal island of Lily Beach. When we landed we got a little boat to the island and were greeted with white sand, mango smoothies and a man playing the drums!
As soon as we got to our rooms we jumped straight into the lagoon, and swam with fishes amongst the corals, in the evening we showered, took a walk around the island and has some dinner which was scrummy. On the way back to the villa we were lucky enough to see some sharks, manta rays, crabs, thousands of fish and some eels, which weren't my favourite but all the same pretty incredible as we peered over the reef.
