France on Camera | Road Trip August 2015

A spontaneous road trip is my kind of thing. Getting in a car and making it up as you go along is a lot of fun, especially when you are visiting a new country. This time it was France. After a busy few weeks away, my family decided to have a more relaxing and calmer trip then say, a week full of roller coasters and activities. Travelling to France we became the typical tourists. I sat in the back with my blanket and pillow and watched a few movies as we traveled North, towards Pao through the Pyrenees

We spend one night in Pao, and then continued onto Bordeaux to visit some family. After a lovely night there we headed up North once again, a ten hour drive towards Paris. I was so excited.  We arrived in Paris and found the hotel. We stayed in a relatively small hotel called the Best Western Ducs de Bourgogne. The rooms were adequate, possibly a bit on the small side and a 7am fire drill, wasn’t exactly my favourite thing but, oh well.

The first night we walked around a bit and headed out for some dinner at a restaurant just behind the hotel, which served some lovely food and was made by the excellent staff. It was a laugh, the next was the adventurous one. From a Bus Tour around the City and a walk through the Louvre gardens, I fell in love with this place. The architecture was so aesthetically pleasing, I just didn’t know where to look from the small markets to the streets lined with boutiques, I loved every bit.
