Living in student accommodation means decorating you room and house are generally kept to a minimum. You work with what you've got. At the beginning of the term, visiting everyone's houses and being nosy was great fun. You got to check out their house and see what they did with their space.   For me, my room is my space, somewhere where I can chill out and have moments where I can escape and relax. I thought I would share what I'd done with my room, although it's most likely not going to stay like this for long

A Few days ago I posted about my trip to Castle Howard, sharing some of the photos from my trip of the interior of the Castle. I thought I would also do a separate post of the grounds, which was equally as beautiful. For the majority of the day, the weather wasn't great, living up to 'typical English weather' conditions, However later into the afternoon the sun came out to play, creating a beautiful sunset and evening, even if it was a rather chilly one. 

Mince Pies are most certainly a Christmas staple, I make them almost every year (unless mum beats me to it). This year was no exception. Today I decided to go down the easy route, with a super easy recipe and having fun with the decorations. 

Just before coming home for Christmas, myself and a friend, took a trip to the beautiful Castle Howard. Although the weather wasn't great, it was a wonderful way to get into the festive spirit. Both the grounds and the house has been decked out for Christmas with and endless number of Christmas Trees to marvel at, alongside the remarkable exterior and interior of the Castle.

Over the last few weeks I have been swapping in new products to my make up routine, whether its because a previous product has run out and I have opted for something different, or just because I have some thing new to try.  Here is what I have been using as my 'go to' products over the last few weeks.

I have managed to get myself into more of a routine when it comes to my hair, over the past few weeks. Which has been beneficial for myself, as I am more organised and my hair, which gets looked after, a lot better.  Over the Christmas period, I ended up in many beauty and hair related shops and these are some of the products which I have been using on a more regular basis from among the ones I have purchased.

Over the festive period and into the New Year, everyone changes things up, tries something new or simple keep on to their staple favourites. These are some of the few things I have been loving this January as we kick off the New Year. 

My night time routine, has been fairly simple, however I feel it has been very effective. With literally no appearances from spots or blemishes. Its affordable, which is great as I am on a student budget and leaves my skin feeling fresh and hydrated. 

I cannot express how much I have enjoyed living and being apart of a student community. My entire experience over the last term has been overwhelming, the independence, the people. the course, the list could go on and a large part of it is down to where I am living.  There is nothing worse then disliking where you are living, so picking University accommodation is a huge thing. For the majority most people are content and loving their uni life, their flat and who they are surrounded with but how do you know what is going to suit you. Filling out the application form can be confusing, what are you willing to compromise and where should  you even start looking.  For myself I attend the University of York, a collegiate university. Something which doesn't seem as important as it did within freshers as we battle out with chants against other colleges along the bus to events and into town.  For myself my college plays a massive part of my Uni life, I feel it brings ...

Between the Christmas and New Year period, I travelled up to the Big City, to visit some friends from Uni and explore London, like proper tourists, from wondering around Museums, and staring at paintings from Monet and Van Gogh, to pondering around little markets and taking pictures o popular tourist spots it was a good day out, with a lot of laughs and very tired feet.
